You will need your Barclays sort code and account number, if you wish to setup a standing order or Direct Debit. You will also need your Barclays sort code and account number to make a new bank transfer.
If you do not know your Barclays sort code and account number, you can find them in the following five ways:
On Your Barclays Debit Card
If you have a new Barclays Debit Card, your account number and sort code will be published on the front of your card. Your sort code is a six digit number seperated by dashes, while your account number is a solid 8 digit number.
Please note: If your card is of an older format (issued over a year ago), then your account number and sort code may not be published on your Debit Card. If so, try one of the methods below.
On Your Barclays Cheque Book
If you have a Barclays cheque book, your account number and sort code will be published on each individual cheque and on the information sheet. Your sort code will be seperated by dashes, and your account number will be a solid number.
If you do have a cheque book, your sort code and account number will be published in the top right hand corner. They will also be published at the bottom of the cheque, in a digitised font.
On Your Barclays Bank Statements
If you receive paper statements in the post, you’ll find your account number and sort code published in the top right hand corner of your statements. You can also order bank statements online or on the telephone, or receive them digitally.
Your Barclays account number and sort code will never change, so you can use older statements reliably. Historic statements, such as those that are over a year old, can also be used.
By Calling Barclays
If you need to know your account number and sort code but you don’t have your cheque book, Debit Card or a paper bank statement to hand, you can call Barclays. Barclays will tell you your account number on the phone, and help you with any other account enquiries.
If you call Barclays phone banking, you’ll also be able to hear your available account balance and order statements on the phone. You’ll also be able to set up and arrange new payments.
On the Barclays Mobile App
If you have the Barclays app downloaded and installed on your smartphone or tablet, you can find out your account number and sort code from within the Barclays app. If you are 16 or over, you can use the app to manage your money and your bank accounts.
Please note that you must first register for online banking to use the mobile app. Once registered, you will find your sort code and account number listed under each of your account’s headings.
